ELECTRICAL MECHNICAL MAINTENANCE TECH I

Department: Operations
Location: Concord, NC

A person in this position performs entry level trades work maintaining, inspecting, and operating pump stations, maintaining and inspecting sewer lines, multi-hearth incinerator, centrifuges, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the close supervision of the Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor or designated staff.

This job requires the following competencies and experience:

Basic knowledge of organization and departmental policies, practices and procedures, methods, tools, and materials associated with the operation and maintenance of wastewater conveyance systems with particular emphasis related to the electrical and mechanical components; basic knowledge in the use of standard office equipment and applicable software; basic knowledge of preparing a variety of documents and reports; basic knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in general construction, electrical, mechanical and maintenance work; basic knowledge of utility interceptor maintenance and construction practices; basic knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work; some knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to operations of motorized equipment and traffic control procedures; ability to work from blue prints and sketches; ability to understand oral and written instructions; ability to operate assigned constructive equipment with skill; ability to work independently; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, contractors, vendors, regulatory agency representatives, associates and the general public.es the following competencies and experience:

The position requires the following education, license or certification:

High school diploma or GED

Possession of a valid NC driver's license upon employment and obtain a Class A NC CDL within 18 months of employment.
